I'm having a nutrition problem, I think. It's been so long since I engaged in any type of real training (and even when I was strong and fit, I just ate whatever I damn well pleased, trusting my body to tell me what it wanted) that I no longer really know what to expect.
Anyway, today 55-minute session on my trainer sucked. I rode only in middle gears, and at a miserable cadence. I just couldn't find a groove. Tomorrow it's a ride and a run. Here's hoping that it feels better than it did today.
For the record, today's food log, up to 4:15 PM:
cup of coffee; (6 oz milk)
two eggs with 1 oz gouda cheese
quarter-cup honey-sesame sticks
granola bar
Clif recovery shake
Also for the record, Coach Mike is reading this 'log. Which is why I happen to be posting every day's workout. No need to read it all. Been sleeping like bunk lately, BTW. Feh.

A. 55 minutes on a trainer always sucks.
B. You expect to feel good on the bike already? That's what the transition period's for - to get you used to it again.
C. That's enough food for breakfast and a snack - where's lunch?
I totally agree with pb. How on earth do you expect to survive (and train) on that fare? No wonder you're feeling sluggish on the trainer ...
Here's my intake yesterday:
Breakfast
- 1 bowl mueli/bran flakes with one banana and one apple and loads of milk
- 2 pieces of toast and honey
- 1 glass orange and cranberry juice
- 1 cup coffee
Before my session (2-hour base endurance run starting 9am)
- 3/4 litre of psp22
When I came back from my run I had
- 1 shortbread cookie
- 1 banana
- 1 orange
For lunch I had
- 1 1/2 wholewheat pitta bread
- selection of couscous & pasta salads
- houmous, olives, vine leaves etc.
So by 4:15pm I had eaten about 5 times as much as you.
FYI I weigh 69kg and have 19% body fat.
Eat, girl!
