i'm going to have to go to a "t-minus" countdown soon. this counting up really is not working.
had an OK week last week. skipped what seems to be the requisite 3 workouts and got in something like 9 hours last week. dunno. apathy? laziness? tiredness? who the crap knows.
this week looks like hell, so i skipped a day. heh. no, actually, i just decided to move my workouts around and took my second scheduled day-off on tuesday instead of friday. sprocket was sick again yesterday (downstairs neighbhors unclear on concept of keeping my greedy hound away from their dog's food), so that kept me from going anywhere until jim got home, at which point i sat down on the couch and FELL ASLEEP SITTING UP. hello? clearly something wrong there. so i took the day off.
today's workout felt remarkably good. it was the first day i've been out on my bike alone this year. felt really, really good. once you get away from the main part of the lakefront path here, it's incredibly relaxing. nice.
today's workout was a two and a half hour ride with cadence repeats followed by a 2300 yard swim. GUESS WHAT? not only did i manage the whole swim in an HOUR (it's the first time i've ever hit the prescribed swim time right on the nose), i managed the fastest 400 i've ever swum. get ready for it... it was a blistering time of NINE MINUTES.
damn.
a really good day all around. felt good. tomorrow's workout simulates a triathlon: an hour swim; a 90-minute ride; an hour run. yikes. i'm scared that if i do badly on this, or feel badly, tomorrow, i'll lose ALL mo.
eeeeee.
tomorrow is also my book party! i'm selling many of my old books, and all proceeds will go to ShelterBox, which, by the way, was the first--and one of the only--relief organizations allowed into Myanmar. which the Brits insist on calling Burma. hmph.
